It's time for US poker players to find a new place to play

(Our recent press release at PRNews) October 2006

StartMySuccess.com has compiled a list of alternate poker rooms and websites that continue to offer the game of online poker to US poker players.

With the recent online gaming bill being signed into action today by U.S president George Bush also known as the “UIGEA", several large poker sites have closed their doors to the US poker and online gaming market leaving US poker players looking for alternate venues to play poker online, ones that still accepts wagers from those who reside in the USA.

StartMySuccess.com have updated their website to now reflect the status of several large poker sites and have included several picks that still accept US poker accounts.

Included in the top picks is Fulltilt poker which has recently launched an ad campaign stating that " We're here to stay! " and went furthermore by saying " we are committed to providing you with the best online poker experience anywhere. We want to remind you that your money is completely safe and secure at our site, and that you can always deposit and withdraw funds quickly and easily using one of our many payment processors", Fulltilt poker still offer bonus codes and bonuses to US poker players and the game can be downloaded from this link.

Such statements show Fulltilt poker's true commitment to the large US poker market which is a source of billions of dollars in revenue for the online gaming industry and their view point is in stark contrast to many of their staunch rivals who have folded their hand in on US poker players.

The online payment processor Neteller too have come out stating that they too will remain active in the US market the online gaming payment processing powerhouse generates around 85% of its earnings from it’s North American customers, Neteller executive, vice president of marketing and sales, Bruce Elliot confirmed, “We are staying in the US, I don't think we have a very big problem.” Elliot made these remarks at an online gambling conference held in Barcelona. This was greeted as great news by many in the online gaming community.

Bodog Poker have announced they too will remain in the booming US poker market and will accept players residing in the USA. Bodog Poker have also added several incentive poker bonus codes to snatch some of the US poker players looking for a new venue to host their online poker games. http:www.startmysuccess.com/ bodog-poker-bonus-code.htm [More details on Bodog Poker and bonus codes]

StartMySuccess.com is committed to continue running articles on the recent US poker ban and will include relevant updates as the saga develops to aid the US poker players finding a new venue to play their favorite game.

Bill does NOT make Online Poker Illegal- says Congresswoman

October 2006, StartMySuccess.com

"This internet gambling legislation has a loophole big enough to drive a truck through that was designed solely to protect betting on horse racing and lotteries over the Internet" said Shelley Berkley a US Democrat Congress woman from Nevada.

Berkley cites the loophole itself as primary evidence of the hypocrisy displayed by those who back the new bill.

Berkley went on to say that "Despite its misleading name, there is no getting around the fact that this bill very clearly and specifically states that betting on horse racing over the internet is not prohibited. The same holds true for lotteries, which enjoy special protections under this legislation and despite the misinformed and misguided claims of this bill's supporters, it would neither prohibit Internet gaming, nor increase the enforcement capabilities of the United States government"

Congresswoman Berkley recently discussed her point of view regarding this legislation recently passed by the U.S. Congress during an on the record interview with Gambling911. The legislation is formally known as " the Unlawful Internet Enforcement Act of 2006" . Which when signed by the President Bush, will try to make it illegal for financial institutions to handle transactions between U.S customers and online gambling sites.

Berkley went on to question the effectiveness of such a ban, especially given the limited information available at this time and on how such legislation could be in reality be enforced as both the Federal Reserve Board and Attorney General have a mere 270 days within which to define the new procedures that financial institutions are set to follow.

Berkley added concern over federal intrusion into an arena that is usually reserved for each individual state.

"The vast majority of states allow gaming and regulate it, whether it be lotteries, racing, card rooms, or casinos. This bill would make a legal activity illegal in those same states solely because it is done online rather than in a casino. In reality the intent of this bill is to attack and undermine legal gaming in our nation"

"I continue to be amazed by the members of this body who constantly rail against an intrusive federal government, and yet, when it comes to gaming, they are the first to call for more government intrusion," Berkley announced. "A man's home is his castle unless he chooses to participate in online gaming. Then his home becomes the province of the federal government."

Congresswoman Berkley firmly supports futher research on how to regulate the online gambling industry and turn it into a profitable enterprise for both the public and private sectors.

In May Berkley co-sponsored legislation called "The Internet Gambling Study Commission Act " with it's goal being to create a federal study on Internet gaming and to report its findings and recommendations for a future course of action. This study bill was in direct response to House efforts to ban all forms of online gaming. It was originally introduced by Rep. Jon Porter (R-NV) and was osponsored by more than 40 other House Members.

Congresswoman Berkley again voted in July against Republican led efforts to ban casino gaming on the Internet and unsuccessfully fought to amend the legislation to close a loophole in HR-4411 giving special exemptions to horse racing and lotteries.

"Internet gaming is becoming more popular every day and we need a comprehensive federal study that looks at the uestion of whether or not it can be effectively regulated and what role technology can play in accomplishing that goal" said Berkley, who co chairs the Congressional Gaming Caucus.

"Nevada is the world model for well regulated gaming and people who come to the Las Vegas strip know they are not going to be ripped-off. As a nation, we should look at whether or not the Nevada model can also be used to regulate gaming on-line. That is just one of the many uestions I hope this study will answer," said Berkley. "It is not the role of the federal government to tell adults how they should spend their money, and that includes betting online."
